WE DEEPLY LOVE LEATHER, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND THE LOUCHEBEM SPIRIT

1. COMMITMENT AS A RESPONSIBLE BRAND:

We feel it's important to share some information and beliefs about our vision of a responsible brand, at our small business level, without claiming to preach. Since our brand's inception, our approach has always been to minimize our negative impacts as much as possible and promote our positive ones. We want to demonstrate that quality, expertise, and commitment to contemporary issues are not incompatible with fair prices.

2. SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC MODEL:

To ensure our business model remains viable, we have chosen to minimize intermediaries. This reduces the time it takes for raw materials and finished products to travel, thereby reducing logistics costs. We believe that creating, producing, and selling in the same location also adds value.

3. TRANSPARENCY AND PROXIMITY:

First and foremost, we prioritize transparency: everyone can observe and " feel " the manufacturing process of our creations. Our customers can experience our workshop firsthand, which allows us to offer a very high-quality service and customization, with almost no additional costs. By opting for short supply chains and using exclusively French leather, our raw material only travels the necessary kilometers to be tanned and stored at our supplier, located 1 km from our workshop.

4. RESPONSIBLE ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES:

Every shipment is carbon offset where possible. We reuse half of our leather scraps and 70% of our other waste. This is how the "Cowboy" bag, designed in collaboration with the upcycling brand RUSMIN , came to be.

5. SOCIAL COMMITMENT:

From a social perspective, although we are a very small company, we encourage training (internships, apprenticeships) and the sharing of know-how. We have trained more than 15 people in saddlery sewing, including students and retirees in retraining, some working with us, others joining the workshops of major companies, starting their own businesses or continuing their studies.

6. SOLIDARITY PROJECTS:

Finally, whenever possible, we combine the launch of new products or collaborations with a charity project. For example, the Kinarmonik association, which trains young people in music in Kinshasa, was supported through sales of our guitar strap.

If you have any questions about these topics, we will be happy to answer them.
